Only have one trip planned? A Single-Trip Emergency Medical Plan provides coverage from your specified departure date until the date you return home. Looking to extend your coverage from another insurance plan? A Single-Trip Plan can be purchased to cover those extra days not included in your current plan.

Multi-Trip Annual Plan

Designed for frequent travellers and Snowbirds, the Multi-Trip Annual Emergency Medical Plan provides coverage for an unlimited number of trips during the policy year. Choose between 4-8-15-32 and 60-days of coverage per trip. And extend your coverage on a daily basis with a Single-Trip Emergency Medical Plan if you choose to take a vacation longer than your selected days of coverage.

Trip Cancellation Coverage

Vacations can be major investments. They can also be risky! Blizzards can force flight cancellations, medical emergencies can postpone departure dates and connections can be missed. With so many potential complications, it’s nice to know you can protect your trip costs.

Trip Cancellation Coverage helps you feel protected even before you start your trip. In the event your trip is cancelled before your departure, you’ll be covered for items such as non-refundable airfare, pre-paid travel arrangements and any cancellation penalties. In the event your trip is interrupted after departure, you’ll be covered for items like transportation to rejoin tour groups or the cost of out-of-pocket expenses during longer delays (such as meals, accommodations, telephone calls and taxi fares). Plus, in the event your personal belongings are delayed, lost or damaged, you’ll be covered with the baggage loss, damage, and delay benefit now included with our Trip Cancellation Coverage.


Baggage Loss, Damage & Delay

If you’ve purchased Trip Cancellation Coverage it now includes baggage loss, damage and delays coverage at no extra cost to protect your personal belongings while travelling. The baggage loss, damage and delay benefit provides the following coverage.

  • $500 per item or set of items up to a maximum of $1,500 coverage
  • $100 to replace documentation such as a passport or driver’s licence
  • $400 for replacing personal items if your baggage is delayed for 12 hours or more
  • $100 for replacing currency due to theft or robbery
  • Baggage Loss, Damage & Delay has a maximum of $1,500

Immigrants & Visitors to Canada Insurance

Whether you’re just visiting, applying for a Super Visa, or planning on making Canada your new home, we’re here to help provide for your emergency medical needs while in the country.

  • You choose the deductible; $0, $100, $500 or $1,000
  • You choose the amount of insurance; $25,000, $50,000, $100,000 or $150,000 in total coverage
  • You choose the length of time for which you are covered

No medical questions if you are under 55 years of age.

No waiting period if you apply before you arrive in Canada or are replacing an existing health plan issued by a Canadian insurer. Without existing health coverage, there is a 2 day (48 hour) waiting period if you apply within 30 days of your arrival in Canada, or a 7 day (168 hour) waiting period if you apply more than 30 days after your arrival in Canada.

When visiting Canada, coverage for side trips outside of Canada of up to 30 days each, are included with your Canadian travel medical emergency plan.


Outside your province of residence, your provincial health care plan offers limited coverage for emergency medical care Student Coverage through GBI Consultants helps fill those gaps helping you and your family feel safe so you can focus on your education.

Student Coverage (available to students under age 55) provides emergency medical coverage up to $2,000,000 with 17 comprehensive benefits including the cost of ambulance service, hospital rooms, treatment by a doctor, diagnostic tests and in-hospital drugs.

As an option, the plan can cover multiple family members. You can also choose between four and 12 month coverage periods to suit your study terms.

Student Coverage doesn’t stop at the classroom door. It also provides coverage for trips you may take while studying abroad.

And because we know that student finances are tight, Student plans can be designed with direct billing options to ensure that you aren’t left out-of-pocket for steep medical expenses.

Sports Participation Coverage

If you play on an official university sports team, you may be at an increased risk of sports-related injury. Unfortunately, your school’s insurance plan may not provide full coverage for such injuries. Student coverage’s often provide student athletes playing on university athletic teams with coverage over and above their school’s medical coverage.
